HISTORY
  • In 1992, North Las Vegas Housing Services Inc. was created through an initiative by the City of North Las Vegas and Neighborhood Reinvestment Corporation (now known as NeighborWorks America).

  • In 2000, NHS formally changed its name to Neighborhood Housing Services of Southern Nevada and expanded its service boundaries to include North Las Vegas, Las Vegas, Henderson and all of Clark County.

  • In 2007, NHS merged with Golden Rule, another non-profit agency, and acquired Parsons Place, which provides transitional housing to the near homeless.

  • In 2007, NHS celebrated its 15th anniversary.  Throughout those 15 years, NHS has leveraged and invested over SIXTY-ONE MILLION ($61,000,000.00) in community reinvestment and homeownership initiatives and has assisted thousands of individuals and families with their housing needs, including the achievement of the American dream, homeownership.


NHS is comprised of Board and staff working together to make a difference.  NHS’s Board of Directors consists of between 5 and 15 residents, business leaders and government representatives.  The Board is responsible for oversight, setting the organizations goals and directions, and ensuring the financial solvency of the organization.  The day to day operations are directed by the President/Executive Director and implemented by her staff.  Staff consists of a dedicated and specialized group of office administrators, program administrators and maintenance people.
