NHSSN owns and manages 132 units of affordable rental housing grouped in
three distinct locations and serving different income and family compositions.
Parsons Place (Transitional Housing Program). Located on the
corner of 7th and Stewart in downtown Las Vegas, this one three-story building houses
57 units of studio apartments. The focus of these housing units is to provide clean,
safe affordable housing opportunities to adults (no children allowed) who are moving
out of shelters or “near homeless”. The income level is under 50% of Area
Median Income. These clients come in with varying needs, but each client receives
case management to help him/her develop a plan to achieve self-sufficiency
and permanent housing.
Calcaterra properties. Located a few blocks from the strip, just off Flamingo
and Paradise, on a cul-de-sac, these five stand-alone buildings house 42 units of one
and two bedroom apartments. The tenants are primarily families, with or
without children, with an income level of under 60% of Area Median Income.
North Las Vegas properties. Located near the business office, NHSSN
has seven buildings containing 33 units of one and two bedrooms, primarily 4/6/8
unit buildings. Tenants are singles, married couples with and without children. Very
stable population with low turnover.
NHSSN also rents two single-family homes in the North Valley area of North Las Vegas.
Future projects. will include additional single-family rental homes for families.

NHSSN Receives a Certificate of Appreciation from CNLV
April 24th to 30th was National Community Development Week in the City of North Las Vegas. CNLV presented NHSSN with a certificate for the outstanding work they did in rehabilitating 22 units at 2100/2106/2109 Daley, 2157 Carroll and 2310 Webster. All of the units were upgraded with new appliances, windows, HVAC, cabinets, carpet, electrical panels and landscaping. So stop by and ask Cathy to show you one of the refurbished units.

Corporate Giving:
NeighborWorks® America awarded a $195,000 grant to Neighborhood Housing Services of Southern Nevada, Inc. (NHSSN). The grant will allow NHSSN to provide green-energy rehabilitation to their existing affordable housing rental property portfolio and enhance the properties available for low to moderate income tenants in Las Vegas.
